WILD CAMEL PROTECTION FOUNDATION SPONSORSHIP FORM

The Wild Camel Protection Foundation, a United Kingdom registered charity number 1068706, is fund-raising for its programme of activities in China and Mongolia which aim to protect the IUCN listed, critically endangered wild Bactrian camel (Camelus bactrianus ferus) in its unique desert habitat.

On March 1 2006, as part of the fund-raising activities, the founder and chairman of the WCPF, John Hare FRGS is attempting to walk around Lake Turkana in Kenya with camels together with Josh Perret, the grandson of Jasper Evans, a WCPF co-trustee. This 450-mile trip will take approximately six or seven weeks and in the process will cross the river Omo where it flows out of Ethiopia and into the lake. We do not believe that anyone has travelled around the Lake with camels before and members are invited to sponsor him either on a per mile basis or for the whole trip.

The proceeds raised will be used to fund our wild Bactrian camel breeding programme at Zakyn Us, Mongolia and our educational work in both China and Mongolia. Sponsorship forms will be sent directly to WCPF members; down loadable from the website and obtainable from John Hare.

We hope people will either sponsor the whole walk by paying so much per mile or make a donation. If you are interested in supporting this walk please complete the form or make a donation marked “Lake Turkana” and post it to Wild Camel Protection Foundation School Farm Benenden Kent England TN17 4EU.
